In the bleak coastal city of Ravensport, a failed clerk named Elias murders and replaces a reclusive shipping magnate. As he masters every detail of the dead man's life—signature, schedule, medical records, even his disability claim appeals—he discovers that technical perfection cannot erase the hollow void where his own identity used to be.
