In a near-future American metropolis, a series of murders are livestreamed to a global audience by a killer who calls himself "The Static." Each broadcast is a meticulously crafted ritual of destruction, mocking law enforcement's every move. Public defender-turned-prosecutor Elias Voss, himself haunted by a childhood of neglect, is assigned to the task force. As he dives into the digital footprints, he realizes the killer isn't a random monster—he is a mirror of every soul that society has rendered invisible.
