Echoes in the Grid

In the rain-soaked city of Portford, a traffic stop turns fatal when Officer Derek Cole restrains Marcus Webb, an unarmed Black man, during a minor violation stop. As the city erupts in protests, a shadowy online collective calling themselves the Grid Liberators takes justice into their own hands—hacking the city's infrastructure to exact revenge on those they deem complicit. But when water purification systems are poisoned and power grids selectively fail, causing more civilian deaths, the line between vigilante justice and domestic terrorism dissolves. Detective Inspector Lena Hartwick, a Scotland Yard transplant haunted by a failed cyber-crime case, must navigate the anonymous corridors of the dark web to unmask a killer who never has to touch a weapon.
